Alberta employers wanting to hire Québec students

Who can hire students through this program?
All members of the Government of Alberta and Legislative Assembly are eligible to apply.
How many departments host a student each summer?
Up to 40 departments are selected each summer to host a student. Selection is based on whether a Québec student applicant meets your educational and language requirements and if the position you provide gives the student an opportunity to develop skills related to their field of study.
How does the hiring process work?
The Québec administration will interview and hire a student that best matches your education and language requirements.
How long is the work term?
Employment is for 13 weeks commencing May 14 to August 10, 2012.
What is the salary?
$15.00/hour (full salary is paid through the Summer Temporary Employment Program)
What is my commitment to the program?
- Attend a half day orientation session the first Monday your student arrives in Alberta
- Assist the student to find accommodations
- Mentor the student during the employment period
- Meet with a Program Officer one time during the program to report on progress
- Cover any costs associated with the student’s job
How do I hire a student?
Applications are now being accepted. Application deadline is February 22, 2012.
